The fifth-largest city in the state of Texas, Fort Worth is consistently ranked among the top places in the nation to work, and live. The city is situated in North Texas and part of the American Southwest. Fort Worth is a flourishing center of traditions and trade.

The city is also known as Cowtown and was founded in 1849 as a military outpost. Fort Worth is located in the rolling hills of the Great Plains region of north-central Texas. The city has a humid subtropical climate. Summers are extremely hot and winters are mild.
